(Smith County Insider Press) On Tuesday, January 16, Smith County 911 received a call reporting a structure fire at the intersection of Pea Ridge Road and Stonewall Highway. Forks River and Central District Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene. Gordonsville Fire Department was also dispatched to the scene as mutual aid.

The Fire Department’s response times were delayed due to hazardous road conditions during the snow fall Tuesday morning.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found a two-story home completely engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. It took firefighters several hours to fully extinguish the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire.

According to the Tennessee Property Data website, the home belonged to Jacky Bellar. The home is historically known as the Bellar House, and has been owned by the Bellar family for over 100 years. The home was currently being used as a rent house.
