The cooler weather had an impact on attendance at the Town of Carthage Spring Market Fest this past Saturday, April 9th, but visitors enjoyed some tasty treats prepared by the Wilson County Cast Iron Community. The Community of Cast Iron enthusiasts share a passion for the culture of cooking with cast iron. The take it outdoors and also use it in the kitchen. The strive to teach and educate and love family-oriented activities. They share recipes and knowledge on the lifting up of rusty abandoned cast iron cookware for future generations.
Food Truck vendors including Donna’s Kitchen and Adams Barbeque provided a selection of sandwiches, platters, desserts and beverages. Vendors put on extra layers, shared hot chocolate and provided some shopping options. A kids game area provided some entertainment while adults shopped.
Similar to this event, future events will include the Pup Parade and Classic Car Cruise-In. With each event these areas expect continued growth. The Market Fest Committee is thankful to all who participated and are excited to continue to grow the event. Future vendors and those participating in the recent event are eligible for early sign-up discounts for the Fall Event which will be held the 4th Saturday of September on the 24th.
