Southern Charm Barber Shop & Salon Joins Effort to Revive Carthage Main Street Business District
As most people know, the business district of Main Street in Carthage began its decline with the country’s economic recession several years ago. Coupled with the extended closure of the Carthage Bridge, businesses along main street began to close, leaving many buildings and store fronts vacant. Recently, a movement to revive Main Street has formed and continues to grow.
Southern Charm Barber Shop & Salon owner, Jessica Tyree, is proud to announce she is joining this growing movement and is open for business. Jessica graduated from Mr. Wayne’s School of Unisex Hair Design last year as a Master Barber and Stylist. Possessing both barbershop and cosmetology licensing, she has opened Southern Charm with the intention of making it your “one stop shop” for any and all barber, cosmetology and salon services. Men’s services include traditional and contemporary haircuts and styles, beard trimming and straight razor shaves. Women’s services include traditional and contemporary cuts, curls and hair coloring. Professional and specialty hair, skin and nail products will also be available. Comprehensive manicure and pedicure services are also available. Joining her in this department is certified manicurist, Mary Sherman.
Jessica is in the process of installing her first tanning bed, with plans of soon expanding her tanning bed service to include more beds, as well as specialty tanning lotions and products
Located at 310 N. Main Street, immediately adjacent to the Walton Hotel, Southern Charm provides modern expertise with a little bit of an “old time” feel. Southern Charm’s Grand Opening Ceremony and ribbon cutting was held Friday, April 7 at 2 pm.
