Business Spotlight: J.C. Kitchen and More

April 6, 2021

J.C. Kitchen and More is a family owned restaurant here in Smith County, and they put a spin on the traditional meat and three. They recently joined The Smith County Chamber of Commerce in membership and they’re ready to serve the community.

Jamie, the owner, is a Smith County native and was raised here in the Gordonsville community. He attended GHS and helped support his parents and their property. At the age of 26, Jamie began driving a tow truck and continued to do so for about 30 years. In 2010 he met his wife, Christi. They combined their families and even adopted, making them a family of 10. They care for several special needs children within their family.

Learning to manage work and and to feed a large family has led them to their dream of owning a small family business where people can enjoy great company and amazing food. They dream of a place where special needs children and adults will always be welcome.

All of the food made in the restaurant is cooked to order and never left to sit for the next potential customer. Even the Mashed potatoes are made from scratch! You can also come in and enjoy a huge piece of cake that Christi makes sure to bake fresh everyday.

J.C. Kitchen is located inside the historical Walton Hotel and is open 7 days a week. Breakfast is served daily starting at 6 am. All you can eat fried catfish can always be found on Friday nights, along with homeade hushpuppies and a great smile from the warm and inviting staff. You may even get lucky enough to meet the real life monkeys that Mr. and Mrs. Harris own and care for.
