As of 12:25 pm, a suspected burglar is at large in Carthage following an incident on Wednesday morning, August 12. The suspect is a white male that is approximately 6 feet tall, with blonde hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve blue shirt and cargo pants.
He was last seen in the areas of Upper Ferry Road and Walnut Drive inside the City Limits of Carthage.
The Carthage Police Department and the Smith County Sheriff’s Office are currently searching for the individual.
Smith County High School and Carthage Elementary School are currently under a “shelter in place” due to the safety concerns.
Stay alert if you are in the area and if you see someone matching this description, DO NOT APPROACH. Call 911 Immediately.
