(Smith County Insider Press) Carthage, Tenn. – On Friday morning, November 11, around 8:20 AM a structure fire was reported on the Riverview Regional Medical Center property. An EMT at the hospital noticed smoke and flames protruding from a building and informed dispatchers to send the fire department.
Carthage Fire Department arrived on scene within minutes. The fire was coming from the side of the structure close to one of the AC units.
Carthage Fire Department extinguished the flames within minutes. It is believed that the fire possible started inside of one of the buildings AC units.
No occupants were inside the building at the time of the fire. The building was used for hospital storage. The building received minimal damage.
Smith County Sheriff’s Office and Smith County EMS responded to the scene.
