Amy Waggoner with her winning gingerbread barn
Congratulations to Amy Waggoner, winner of the Carthage Junction Depot’s second annual Gingerbread house competition! Her winning entry was a beautifully detailed replica of the Agee Doubletree Farm barn on Main Street in Gordonsville. A well deserved win for an amazing entry. Amy took great care to include details down to the wood grain in the planks as well as cows resting in the snow.
During the Christmas event, Depot museum trains traveled through snowy Christmas miniature villages, the smell of Gingerbread filled the air, and Santa listened to all of the children’s Christmas wishes. This event was generously sponsored by Robin Underwood, real estate agent for Underwood Hometown Realty.
Next year, make plans to bring your own entry to the competition and help this event grow!
The Carthage Junction Depot hosts monthly arts events. The next event will be Saturday, January 17 and features an exhibit of hand blown glassworks from the Eades Museum Collection, graciously on loan from Butler’s Auction. Beautiful glass vases, bowls, sculptures, and more will be on display and valuable for purchase. Check out the Carthage Junction Depot Facebook page for more information about upcoming exhibits.
