The 48th Annual Smith County Chamber of Commerce meeting was held on Thursday, October 13, at the Smith County Ag Center. The meeting’s theme was “There’s No Place like Smith County for your Business”. Guests enjoyed a family-style BBQ and supper. Over 100 guests and members were present.
Several awards were given to citizens and business leaders:
- Leadership Award – Mary Leslie Wakefield
- Community Service Award – Barbara Kannapel
- Woman Business Leader Award – Dr. Melanie Cripps
- John Carson Maggart Business Leader Award – Danny Bass
- Industrial Leadership Award – Bill Hart
- Chamber Perpetual Memorial Plaque (2022) – Dr. Gordon Petty
- Chamber Perpetual Memorial Plaque Special Award – Regina Brooks
