
The Good Scout Award was presented to the Charles E Price American Legion Post 57 at 2022 Smith County Good Scout Award Breakfast on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Community and business leaders who support Scouting were in attendance for the annual Smith County Good Scout Award Breakfast hosted by Bass and Bass Attorney’s at Law and served at the Carthage United Methodist Church.
Each year the Good Scout Award is presented to a business or individual who has made an impact on the community and who exemplifies the spirit of the Scout Oath and Law by helping others and doing their best at all times. The Good Scout Award distinguishes those who go above and beyond expectations and celebrates those who truly make a difference in our community, not only because they care, but because they act.
The Charles E. Price American Legion Post 57 is located in Smith County, where it has been chartered as an American Legion Post since 1931, with its original roots dating back to 1919. It is organized to enhance the well-being of Smith County veterans and their families. The Post advocates for patriotism and honor. It promotes strong national security and continued devotion to fellow service members and veterans. Their community advocacy and service is also seen in their support of the American Legion’s Boys and Girls Stage program, as well as the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts. Post 57 is also sponsors the county’s annual Veterans Day Parade.
