The Smith County Amateur Radio Club Hosts Monthly Meeting

The Smith County Amateur Radio Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, March 17, at 6:00 PM at the Chamber of Commerce.

Smith County Humane Hosts Pancake Breakfast & Benefit Auction to Support Animals in Need

Animal lovers in Smith County have a great reason to come together for a cause this April! The Smith County Humane Benefit Auction and Pancakes for Paws Breakfast will take place on Saturday, April 5th, at the Smith County Ag Center in Carthage. These events aim to raise crucial funds to support local animals in need.
The day will kick off with Pancakes for Paws, a delicious breakfast event running from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. For just $7 per person (or $4 for kids 12 and under), attendees can enjoy a meal that includes three pancakes, two sausage links, and a choice of coffee or orange juice. This fun and heartwarming breakfast will help fuel the community for the exciting auction to follow.
At 10:00 AM, the Smith County Humane Benefit Auction will begin, featuring a variety of donated new and gently used items. Generous donors can still contribute by dropping off items at the Ag Center from March 31st to April 2nd (10 AM – 4 PM), with extended drop-off hours on April 3rd and 4th (10 AM – 7 PM). The auction, managed by Butlers Auction Firm #6059, promises to be an exciting event where attendees can bid on unique treasures while supporting a great cause.
All proceeds from both events will go directly toward Smith County Humane, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need.

Second Harvest Mobile Food Truck Wednesday, February 26th

The Second Harvest Food Truck will be at the Smith County Agriculture Center on Wednesday, February 26th. The truck generally arrives at 10 a.m. Volunteers work to unload the truck and get the food ready for pick-up shortly after. Food is distributed until it is gone. Cars line up around the Ag Center early. Those hoping to receive food at this distribution are encouraged to be in line no later than 10 a.m.
The food trucks are sponsored by the Hunger Relief Fund of Smith County and grants from Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN. Churches, businesses and individuals donate to the hunger relief fund all year. Usually two dates are scheduled each month. New Salem Baptist Association to Host Men’s Conference

The New Salem Baptist Association is set to host a Men’s Conference on Friday, March 21st, at the Smith County Agricultural Center. This inspiring evening of faith, fellowship, and worship is open to all men looking to grow spiritually and strengthen their faith.
The event will begin with a free meal at 6:00 PM, followed by a worship service at 7:00 PM. Leading worship will be The Nesbitts. The keynote message will be delivered by Pastor Tyler Gaulden.

Commodity Distribution in Smith County March 18

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution in Smith County on Tuesday, March 18, from 9 until 11 a.m. at 159 Ag. Center Ln.; South Carthage, TN.
