Upper Cumberland Wine Festival in Historic Granville on April 9th

The Upper Cumberland Wine Festival will be hosted by the Upper Cumberland Tourism Association and collaborative efforts with Historic Granville on April 9th. After an overwhelming response in the past years all eight Upper Cumberland Wineries will be returning to participate in the annual event.
The following wineries will be participating: DelMonaco Winery, Stonehaus Winery, Red Barn Winery, Northfield Vineyards, Cellar 53 Winery and Chestnut Hill Winery. Pre-sell tickets will be $20.00 at participating wineries and for your convenience online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/upper-cumberland-wine-festival-tickets-288738724297. Tickets will be $25 the day of the festival at the festival gate. Must be 21 years or older to participate in the tasting.

Smith County Rescue Squad Annual Roadblock- April 2, 2022

The Smith County Rescue Squad will be holding their annual roadblock fundraiser on Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Carthage, South Carthage, and Gordonsville. The roadblock will begin at 8:00 a.m. and go until approximately 12:00 noon.
The funds collected will assist the Squad in their day-to-day operations. The entirely volunteer Squad is responsible for all search and rescue operations in Smith County and relies solely on grants, donations, and membership dues for funding.
In the event of inclement weather, the fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 9th
1st Annual Caney Fork Classic Jr. Livestock Beef Show and Craft/Antique Show Saturday, April 2nd

Future Farmers of America Youth will host the 1st Annual Caney Fork Classic Beef Show and Craft/Antique Show on Saturday April 2nd 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Smith County Ag Center. Food vendors including Helen’s Restaurant Food Truck will be available, along with craft and antique vendor booths. There will be cash prizes for beef, craft and antique competitions.
Meet and Greet with American Red Cross local volunteer coordinator at Lolly’s Cafe

Join the American Red Cross for a cup of coffee and meet your local Red Cross volunteer at Lolly’s Cafe at 211 Colonial Street, Carthage, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Keep Smith County Beautiful Spring Clean-up Day March 28, 2022

The Keep Smith County Beautiful committee is hosting a Spring Break clean-up day on Monday, March 28, 2022, The day will begin at the Smith County Ag Center at 9 a.m.
Gloves and safety vests will be provided to all volunteers. Community service hours will be verified if needed.
The event ends at 1 p.m. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Bring the family and serve the community together.

Pleasant Shade Community Center Will Host Large Spring Consignment Sale March 31 – April 2, 2022

The Pleasant Shade Community Center will host their annual Large Fall Consignment Sale on Thursday, March 31, Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, 2022
Hours on Thursday and Friday are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and hours on Saturday are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Any item (new or used) can be entered into the sale as long as it is in GOOD WORKING CONDITION. (i.e. kitchenware, bath items, tools, machinery, furniture, clothing, toys, jewelry, etc.)
Keep in mind that the Pleasant Shade Community Center is not liable for any of your items broken or damaged in the sale.

Carthage Market Fest & Cruise-in set for April 9

Enjoy a day of shopping, food and fun at Carthage Market Fest, Saturday April 9th 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carthage Walking Track, 406 Industrial Drive. A Classic Car Cruise-In will also be featured in the parking area of the City Park.
BB’s Bistro to open Thursday, March 17, 2022 in the former Cornerstone Cafe location

Debe and Greg Pilant recently purchased the former Cornerstone Cafe and will start serving on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 7 a.m.
BB’s Bistro will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They will continue to offer pizza and several of the menu items from the former Cornerstone Cafe plus other new menu options. They will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7 .a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. They will be closed on Wednesday.

Inaugural Gordonsville Community-Wide Easter Egg Hunt set for April 9, 2022

The Gordonsville Events Committee is proud to announce the inaugural Gordonsville Community-Wide Easter Egg hunt.
The egg hunt will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 12pm at Ivy Agee Park in Gordonsville (RAIN OR SHINE). There will be three separate egg hunts broken up into three categories: Ages 0-3, 4-7, and 8-12.
There will be TONS of candy and prizes. A photo booth will be available to have pictures made with the Easter bunny. The event is free to the public.
The Gordonsville Events Committee (also known as the Gordonsville Halloween Bash Committee) is a non-profit organization made up of community members, representatives from civic organizations, and government partners. The Gordonsville Events Committee’s goal is to bring fun, free, family-oriented events to Gordonsville.
