Free Community Baby Shower with 20+ local vendors on March 19th

Riverview Regional Medical Center is hosting a Community Baby Shower for soon-to-be parents. Please join us on Sunday, March 19 from 2 – 4 pm for free newborn education, to browse local vendor booths related to pregnancy and parenthood, to take a tour of the labor and delivery unit at RRMC, and enjoy light refreshments. You will also have a chance to win door prizes to help prepare for your baby.

Men’s Conference and Car and Truck Show on March 17th

The New Salem Baptist Association will host a Men’s Conference and Car and Truck Show on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Smith County Agricultural Center. The Car & Truck Show will begin at 5 p.m. Early Online Registration is $15 and $20 at the event. Use the QR code above. Food Trucks, free drinks and desserts, games and prizes will be fun options from 5-7 p.m.
The conference will begin at 7 p.m. with live music by the Jolly String Quartet. The featured speaker will be Willie McLaurin, SBC Enterprises, Vice President. Admission to the event is free.
Shamrock 5K Run hosted by Smith County Health and Rehabilitation on March 25th

Smith County Health and Rehabilitation will host the Shamrock 5K Run on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Race registration begins at 7 a.m. it will start and end at 112 Health Care Drive in Carthage. Participants can register in person at Smith County Health and Rehab or online at https://runsignup.com/Race/TN/Carthage/SmithCountyHealthandRehabShamrock5K
All proceed will go to the resident activities department.
Get Ready for Kindergarten Night Thursday, March 23, 2023

Parents of children who will enter Kindergarten in the Smith County School District are invited to attend a parent information and education night on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the Smith County Chamber of Commerce. Children who will be 5 years old before the start of the 2023-24 school year are eligible for registration which will be held in May.

Community Baby Shower hosted by Riverview Regional Medical Center on Sunday, March 19, 2023

Riverview Regional Medical Center will host a Community Baby Shower on Sunday March 19, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. Vendors from local baby boutiques, retail stores, childcare providers in our county, photographers, party planners, balloon artists and more will be featured. Educational information from a lactation consultant, birth doula, pregnancy care, childbirth class and infant CPR will also be available. The event is open to the public and free.
Carthage UMC hosts Preschool Consignment Sale

Carthage United Methodist Church will host their Spring Preschool Children’s Consignment Sale on Friday March 17th, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday, March 18th, 2023 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. The sale will feature infant and toddler clothing, accessories, furniture, books, toys and more. The sale with be held in the family life center/gym at 608 Main Street North, Carthage, TN.
5th Annual River City Ball Tickets Sales Online Only Beginning February 27th

Ticket sales for the Fifth Annual River City Ball to be held on Saturday, May 13th at Catesa Farms officially begins online on February 26, 2023 6 p.m.. The beneficiaries this year are the Smith County Help Center AND Smith County Pregnancy Help Center.
This year ALL ticket sales will be online only. This includes the purchase of a table represented by your business. In order to make this event available for all–new and old patrons alike–there is a limit of 9 tickets per transaction or one table for ten people. You will have the option to purchase tickets with or without drink bands. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis, and no tickets or tables will be reserved unless purchased directly online.
Corporate sponsorships are the only way to guarantee tickets to the event. Table purchases ARE NOT considered a corporate sponsorship. Currently we still have two sponsorships available that come with six seats each—the Restroom Sponsor and a River City Sponsor. Please contact the River City Ball committee directly if you are interested in purchasing one of those sponsorships.

SCDPC hosts Family Movie Night Friday, March 3, 2023

The Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition will host a Family Movie Night on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Smith County Ag Center. “Small Foot” will be the featured movie and will begin at 6:30 p.m. This is a FREE event to honor the Day of Hope. We will have prevention and recovery resources, testimonies of hope, overdose reversal training, free pizza and lots of fun for the entire family.
Smith County Drug Prevention hosts “Let’s Talk Sigma” event

On Wednesday, March 22, 2023 the Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition will host a “Let’s Talk Stigma” public event. Plan to join in on a critical community conversation with Tedra L Cobb. This interactive conversation will explore how to support loved ones experiencing substance use disorder. It will also discuss how to care for ourselves as loved ones, and the wider community. This meeting will take place at the Smith County Chamber of Commerce at 939 Upper Ferry Road, Carthage TN beginning at 9 a.m. For more information check out the Smith County Drug Prevention website or facebook page.
