Justified Motorcycle Ride Set for June 7 to Benefit Pregnancy Resource Center of Smith County

Motorcycle enthusiasts and community supporters are invited to rev their engines for a great cause on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Justified Motorcycle Ride. This benefit event supports the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) of Smith County, a local organization dedicated to helping women and families in need.

Hosted by the motorcycle group Justified, the ride is open to both bikers and drivers alike, with a registration fee of $20 per bike or car, and an additional $10 for extra riders. Registration begins at 10:00 AM, with kickstands up (KSU) at 11:00 AM.

Starting Point:

  • Parking lot across from First Baptist Church in Carthage

Ending Point:

  • Defeated Creek Tailwater Dam

The event will also feature food served by CWOW, available for donations.

This fun and family-friendly ride is a great opportunity to enjoy the scenic roads of Smith County while supporting a vital community resource. All proceeds will go directly to the Pregnancy Resource Center, which offers free services, counseling, and support to individuals and families facing unplanned pregnancies.

Southside Lions Club 18 Annual “Drive for Sight” 2 Man Golf Scramble Set for June 14th

The Southside Lions Club is proud to announce the return of its beloved annual charity event, the 18th Annual “Drive for Sight” 2-Man Golf Scramble, set to take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Southern Hills Golf Course in Baxter, Tennessee.

This exciting golf tournament will bring together community members, golf enthusiasts, and local businesses for a day of fun and fellowship—all for a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the scramble will support the Lions Club’s mission to improve eye health and provide vision services for those in need.

The scramble will begin at 8 am with a shotgun start. Entry fee is $60 per man – bring your own team.

Defeated Creek Bluegrass Festival Returns June 13–14 with Music, Dancing & Community Fun

It’s almost time to grab your lawn chairs and dancing shoes—the Defeated Creek Bluegrass Festival is back for another year of great music, high-energy dancing, and good times with friends and neighbors. This year’s festival takes place Friday and Saturday, June 13–14, 2025, with the music kicking off at 7:00 PM each night.

For just $5 admission, you’ll get to enjoy an evening packed with live bluegrass bands, traditional square dancing, and the kind of community fun that makes small towns special. Whether you’re a bluegrass fan or just love a lively night out, there’s something for everyone.

U.S. Representative John Rose Announces June Local Office Hours

U.S. Representative John Rose’s (TN-6) district staff will hold a series of local office hours for constituents to connect directly with caseworkers and receive assistance with federal agencies throughout the month of June. During the local office hours, district staff will be available to answer questions and assist constituents with federal casework, such as social security and veterans’ benefits, steps for obtaining a passport, and more. Local office hours occur monthly. “Parables in the Park” VBS Event Set for June 7 at Kidz Central Park

Chestnut Mound Christian Fellowship Church is inviting everyone to come out for a fun at their Community VBS “Parables in the Park” on Saturday, June 7 at Kidz Central Park by the soccer fields. Long Branch Community Church to Host “YEE HAW” Children’s Event

Long Branch Community Church invites children ages 4–12 to join in the fun at this year’s “YEE HAW” event, a celebration of God’s Greatest Gift. The event will take place on May 28th, 29th, and 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each evening.

The program promises a Western-themed experience filled with faith, fun, and fellowship, aimed at helping young children grow in their understanding of God’s love. Activities, music, and interactive lessons are all part of the event.

The Carthage District of Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (UCEMC) is inviting all members to its annual Member Appreciation Lunch on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Carthage District Office, located at 138 Gordonsville Highway.

This annual celebration is UCEMC’s way of saying thank you to its valued members. Attendees can enjoy a sit-down lunch featuring hamburgers or hot dogs with all the trimmings, along with a chance to win great prizes.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our members,” said a UCEMC representative. “This event is all about showing our appreciation and building community.”
