2018 Tri-Lakes Conference Champions
The Gordonsville Junior High Tigers won the Tri-Lakes Conference Championship on September 27th against the Clay County Bulldogs. The Tigers controlled the game, shutting out the Bulldogs to win 18-0.
The Tigers, led by Head Coach Mac Petty, went through the 2018 season undefeated following a loss in last years championship.
“The win means a lot to all of us not so much because of a championship, but last year when we lost these young men said we will be back and win,” Petty said. “They worked extremely hard from the day after we got beat till now to achieve this goal.”
While the team had many bright spots in their championship run, there’s one thing that stands out to Petty.
“Their unity,” Petty said. “They are a very close knit group with a great amount of determination.”
