Gordonsville Football wins big against Pickett County

The Gordonsville Tigers beat the Pickett County Bobcats 42-13. Following an offensive explosion in the first half, the Tigers were able to cruise to victory against their region opponents.

The Tigers offense came out hot, scoring their first touchdown off of a 65 yard pass from Taylor Thaxton to Skyshn Washer to make the score 6-0 early in the first.

The Tigers were able to tack on two more touchdowns in the first quarter to make the score 21-0 after the first quarter with both touchdowns coming off of Braxton Givens touchdowns (1 yard & 11 yard rushes)

The Tigers offense didnā€™t slow down in the second quarter, scoring with just over 10 minutes left in the half off of a fake punt by Levi Halliburton for a 49 yard touchdown to make the score 28-0.

The Tigers scored again with just under 4 minutes in the half off of a 9 yard rush by Chris Welsh to make the score 35-0.

Gordonsville got their sixth touchdown of the night just over two minutes later when Matthew Albritton connected on a pass to Wyatt Pemberton for a 39 yard touchdown to bring the score to 42-0.

Pickett County was able to get on the scoreboard on the following drive with a 60 yard touchdown run to bring the score to 42-7 going into halftime.

The second half didnā€™t see much offense from either team, with the only score coming off of a 20 yard fumble recovery by Pickett County to wrap up the scoring at 42-13.
