Angela Cheyenne Shouse

(Smith County Insider Press)—On May 15, 2018, State Trooper Tommy Cooper was called to respond to a single-vehicle crash on Gordonsville Highway. The driver of the vehicle was Angela Cheyenne Shouse (23, Dixon Springs), who was arrested following the investigation of the crash.

Shouse’s vehicle had travelled off the left side of the roadway and struck a rock embankment as she headed southbound on Gordonsville Highway.

During a search of the vehicle, Cooper discovered a coin purse that contained a tightly-rolled $1 bill with white powdery residue inside. A purple container filled with three white pills, which were identified as Buprenorphine hydrochloride, was also found.

According to the police report, when Cooper arrived at the hospital to speak with Shouse, she exhibited slurred speech and inebriated behavior.

Shouse was unable to provide a blood sample for chemical testing due to medical issues.

Shouse is charged with possession of controlled substances, driving under the influence, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespassing.
