South Carthage Fire Department has purchased a new fire ladder truck to be used at the Department. The truck will not only save people’s lives, but also their money. It will be first in the county that has the ability to reach three stories high, which will make it easier to extinguish fires. It will also hopefully bring the county’s ISO rating from a 6 to a 4, which will save taxpayers money.
Smith County Insider had a chance to sit down with the Chief of the South Carthage Fire Department, Ricky Slack, to discuss the new fire truck.
