Pleasant Shade Community Homecoming to be held on August 18, 2018

August 7, 2018

On August 18, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., a Community Homecoming will be held at the Pleasant Shade Community Center, located at 743 Pleasant Shade Highway in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee.

All that have memories of the Pleasant Shade Elementary School or a fondness of the community are invited to attend.

Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a covered side dish, as the Community Center is supplying Cornerstone Cafe’s famous marinated grilled chicken. Canned drinks, water, sweet tea, and lemonade will also be provided.

Special speakers for the night include former Red Devils coach & present Gordonsville boys basketball coach Trey Sanders. Former Pleasant Shade teacher Eudelle Mundy and Jackie Carver of Sanderson’s Funeral Home will share information about the history of the school and the community.

The organizers of the event request that people bring pictures of the Pleasant Shade community to be displayed on the tables in the Community Center for all to see and enjoy.

Pleasant Shade community member Shannon Gregory encouraged folks on Facebook to spread the word about the upcoming event. Gregory said, “Please invite others that have shared our great school or community in the past that may not be reached via social media. Some have moved away and would probably love this opportunity to see their Alma Mater or even their former classmates. And please let them know of the improvements made to the gym…the air conditioning!”
