Man faces drug charges following traffic stop on I-40

On July 15, 2018, a Tennessee State Trooper stopped Logan Daniel Engle (18, Smyrna) for speeding as he was traveling eastbound through Smith County on Interstate 40.

According to the police report, the Trooper detected an odor of marijuana coming from Engle’s vehicle during the traffic stop. Engle was then asked to step away from the vehicle.

The officer quickly noticed that Engle had attempted to conceal something in his shorts. When asked what he was hiding, Engle produced a bag of a leafy green substance that appeared to be marijuana.

Engle is charged with the manufacture/distribution/sale of a controlled substance.
