Man arrested for drugs following traffic stop

(Smith County Insider Press)—On June 8, 2018, Toriano Adryall Shannon (45, Pleasant Shade) was arrested after Sergeant Kendra Grisham and K-9 Deputy Ridge Long initiated a traffic stop when the vehicle in which Shannon was a passenger veered over the fog line on the Highway 25 Bypass in Carthage, Tennessee.

According to the police report, Grisham asked both Shannon and the driver to step away from the vehicle for a search during the traffic stop.

During a pat-down search, officers discovered 16 grams of marijuana and 1.6 grams of cocaine on Shannon’s person. Shannon identified both substances for the officers.

According to the police report, a glass marijuana pipe was also found on Shannon’s person.

Shannon was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail for booking. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane of travel.

Shannon is charged with two counts of the manufacture/distribution/sell of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use.
