Gordonsville High School 2018 Top Ten Seniors

1) Grace Leslie

Grace Elizabeth Leslie is the valedictorian of the 2018 graduating class of Gordonsville High School. She is the daughter of Brian and Julie Leslie of Hickman. The granddaughter of Gerald and Shenia Bush, and Robert and Ann Leslie. She is a member of Hickman Baptist Church. Grace has been involved in the National Beta Club, Interact Club, Blue and White Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 4 year member of the Volleyball team, 4 year member of the Softball team, 3 year member of the basketball team. Her Honors include Senior Class Homecoming Representative, Tennessee Scholar, Volleyball 2016 & 2017 all district team, and 2017 District MVP, Softball 2017 all district team and received The Adam Hearn Award in the 6th grade. She frequently volunteers with her church group, VBS and the interact club. Grace plans to attend Tennessee Tech University and pursue a career in the medical field.

2) Rebecca Blackburn

Rebecca Blackburn is the Salutatorian of the 2018 graduating class of Gordonsville High School. She is the daughter of Ken and Laura Blackburn of New Middleton. The granddaughter of Bobby and Peggy Blackburn, and Mark and Ferril Coffin. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Gordonsville. Rebecca has been involved in the Beta Club, Blue and White Club, FFA and Interact Club, 4 year member of the volleyball team, 2 year member of the basketball team. Her Honors include Co-President of FFA chapter, Volleyball 2nd team All District. She frequently volunteers with the Interact club. Rebecca plans to attend University of Tennessee Knoxville and pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering.

3) Tristen Pope

Tristan Dudley Pope ranks 3rd in the 2018 graduating class. He is the son of Paul and Felicia Pope of Brush Creek. The grandson of Doyle and Willette Webster, and Susie Pope and the late Jackie Pope. He is a member of New Middleton Baptist Church. Tristan has been involved in the Beta Club, FCA, FFA, Interact Club, 4 year member of the Football team, 4 year of the band. His Honors include Boys State Representative, Daughters of American Revoluation Good Citizen Award, Smith County Youth Leadership, Football All District team and Turney Ford Award. He frequently volunteers with the Interact Club, Smith County Youth Leadership and his church. Tristan plans to attend Tennessee Tech University and pursue a career in Agriculture Education field.

4) Caitilyn Griffin

Caitlyn Michelle Griffin ranks 4th in the 2018 graduating class. She is the daughter of Chris and Stephanie Griffin of Brush Creek. The granddaughter of Bill and Glenda Cowan, and Jimmy and Mary Dan Griffin. She is a member of United Methodist Church. Caitlyn has been involved in the Beta Club, Interact Club, FCA, 4 year member of the yearbook staff, 2 year member of the basketball team, 2 year member of the soccer team 4 year member of the softball team. Her Honors include Freshman Homecoming Representative, Miss Junior, Tennessee Scholar, 2015 First team all district & all tournament, 2017 First team all district & all tournament, 2 years on the FCA leadership team, soccer team senior captain and TSCA all-academic 2016-2017. She frequently volunteers with the Interact club and her youth group. Caitlyn plans to attend Cumberland University to play softball and pursue a career in Athletic Training and Physical Therapy.

5) Britt Dillard

Britt Dillard ranks 5th in the 2018 graduating class. He is the son of Doug and Angel Dillard of Gordonsville. The grandson of Betty Ann Dillard, Bernie Staffon, and Walt and Jean Dillard, and Jerry and Vivian Freeman. He is a member of Lighthouse Church. Britt has been involved in the Beta Club, FBLA, FCA, and 4 year member of the baseball team. His Honors include Senior Class Homecoming Representative, Smith County Youth Leadership. He frequently volunteers with his church group and Smith County Youth Leadership. Britt plans to attend Tennessee Tech University and pursue a degree in Wildlife.

6) Hunter Vaught

Hunter Vaught ranks 6th in the 2018 graduating class. He is the son of Ronnie and Bethney Vaught of Brush Creek. The grandson of Bobby and Faye Hall, and Terry and Linda Vaught. He is a member of New Middleton Baptist Church. Hunter has been involved in the Beta Club, FCA, HOSA, Blue & White Club, and 4 year starter of the Football team. Honors include Boys State Representative, Class Treasurer for 4 years, Honorable mention All-Region Junior year, TSSAA Best Defensive Lineman in the region Senior year, 2017 Offensive Line MVP and Defensive Line MVP and voted class clown and life of the pep rally by the senior class. He frequently volunteers with his church group. Hunter plans to pursue a career in Pharmacy.

7) Hallie Dillard

Hallie Cameron Dillard ranks 7th in the 2018 graduating class. She is the daughter of Bob and Sandra Dillard of Hickman. The granddaughter of Harry and Madge Sandidge, and Walt and Jean Dillard, and Betty Ann Dillard and Bernie Staffon. She is a member of New Middleton Baptist Church. Hallie has been involved in the Beta Club, FFA, Interact Club, 4 year Volleyball manager, 3 year member of the basketball team, 2 year member of the softball team, Tennessee Cattleman, and Tennessee Junior Shorthorn Association. Her Honors include 8th grade Homecoming Queen, Miss Freshman, Sophomore Class Homecoming Representative, Most Improved Defensive Basketball player sophomore year, Junior Class Beauty, Honor Guard, and Miss GHS. She frequently volunteers with the Smith County Cattleman’s Association, Smith County Fair, Smith County Rotary Club and Interact Club. Hallie plans to attend Cumberland University and pursue a career in Dental Hygiene.

8) Ben Lane

Ben Lane ranks 8th in the 2018 graduating class. He is the son of Chy-Anne Lane and Johnathan Nixon of Gordonsville. Ben has been involved in the HOSA Club. Ben plans to attend Tennessee Tech University and pursue a career in Geoscience.

9) Lauren Montgomery

Lauren Paige Montgomery ranks 9th in the 2018 graduating class. She is the daughter of Paul and Angelique Montgomery of Gordonsville. She attends Caney Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Lauren has been involved in the Beta Club, Spanish Club, FFA, Blue and White Club, Interact Club, 4 year member of the Volleyball team and 4 year member of the Softball team. Her Honors include 8 year Perfect Attendance, Interact Homecoming Representative Senior year, Volleyball All-District Junior & Senior year, Tennessee Softball Coaches Association All Academic Award, and voted Biggest Heartbreaker by the senior class. She frequently volunteers with the Haley Hearts Foundation, Chad’s Run, Rotary Pancake Breakfast. Lauren plans to attend Tennessee Tech University and further her education this fall.

10) Hunter Davis

Hunter Davis ranks 10th in the 2018 graduating class. He is the son of Brad and Melissa Davis of Gordonsville. The grandson of Bea Farmer, Michael Davis, Neal Lankford, and Marie Davis. He is a member of Lighthouse Church. Hunter has been involved in HOSA, and 4 year member of the Baseball team. His Honors include Baseball All-District Team Sophomore and Junior year. Hunter plans to do whatever God has in store for him.
