Five men arrested for possession of drugs

(Smith County Insider Press) — On April 19, 2018, K9 Deputy Ridge Long, Sergeant Kendra Grisham, and Deputy Stephen Enoch arrived at 190 Rural Academy Lane with the intent to serve an active domestic assault warrant on Brian Pope (23).

According to the police report, when officers arrived at the residence, they could hear loud music and see multiple individuals walking/running in the back bedroom.

Gary Craig (28, Brush Creek) was observed accepting a clear baggie of Methamphetamine from Brian Pope. The baggie was subsequently found during a pat-down search by Deputy Long. Craig admitted to purchasing the substance from Pope.

Jarrod Williams (29, Lebanon) and Zachary Reeves (28, Lebanon), who were also present at the scene, were found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers found a set of digital scales with white powder residue on Williams, and a used syringe containing Methamphetamine was spotted in the waistband of Reeves.

According to the police report, Craig, Pope, Williams, and Reeves, as well as Joshua Branner (29, Brush Creek), were transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office to be held for investigation.

During a search of the back bedroom of the residence, Long, Grisham, and Detective Steve Babcock discovered multiple sets of digital scales, multiple empty baggies, a clear glass pipe, a multicolored marijuana pipe, and several syringes, as well as other drug paraphernalia items.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, all five men face criminal charges.

Pope is charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to deliver/manufacture, one count of the manufacture/deliver/sell of schedule II Methamphetamine, and one count of domestic assault.

Craig is charged with possession of controlled substances.

Reeves and Williams are charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Branner is charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
