Deputies locate and arrest man wanted for fleeing from THP

(Smith County Insider Press) – On December 16, 2017, warrants were obtained for Mr. Tyler Hale (23, Pleasant Shade) by the Tennessee Highway Patrol due to Hale fleeing on foot from Mojo’s Market after being stopped by THP Sgt. McCormick.

On December 17, According to the police report, Deputy Matt Bush and Sgt. Dusty Hailey went to a residence on Pea Ridge Road after receiving information that Hale was at the residence. After speaking with someone at the front door, Deputy Bush walked around to the back of the residence.

According to the police report, Deputy Bush heard leaves rustling and something moving around in the woods behind the house. After searching, he located Hale lying in the woods.

When contact was made with Hale, according to the police report, Deputy Bush observed Hale reach into his pocket and place several items on the ground. The items were discovered to be Oxycodone 10mg pills, a schedule II drug.

Due to the fact that Hale removed the pills from his pocket and dropped them on the ground, he was charged with tampering with evidence in addition to possession of schedule II.

Hale was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office for booking.

Hale is charged with numerous offenses including simple possession of narcotics, seatbelt law, move over law, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, evading arrest, criminal impersonation, driving on revoked license, violation of probation (criminal court), possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with evidence.
