The Smith County Animal Clinic opened a new grooming and boarding facility, “The Dog House,” in November of 2017.

The project took nearly two years of planning, with owner and veterinarian Dr. Lindsey Dixon, wanting to make sure that everything was just right. One key aspect of the building is the cleaniblility and safety for the animals. The building is made so that it’s easily cleaned and features a ventilation system that makes sure that odor and disease can be controlled.

The Dog House has a smaller capacity than some larger boarding facilities, with max capacity being around 20-25 animals. However, the smaller number allows for more interaction with each pet. A full-time staff member stays in The Dog House not only to watch over the animals, but also to make sure that they are getting the play or attention that they need.

The Dog House also has a full-time groomer, specializing in dogs and cats.

The Smith County Animal Clinic is located at 104 Ervin Dr, Carthage, TN.
