(Smith County Insider Press) South Carthage, Tenn. — The Smith County Board of Education voted to give all Smith County Board of Education employees a 3% salary increase for the 2018-2019 school year. The 3% raise is a reoccurring expenditure, and will be retroactive to July 1, 2018.

Tommy Manning, District 5, expressed, “I agree, this is long overdue!”

Tina Gantenbein made the motion to give the pay increase and Tommy Manning seconded it. The motion passed unanimously. There were five of the eight board members present at the meeting, Brian Smith, David Apple, Joe Taylor, Tina Gantenbein, and Tommy Manning.
