Woman arrested for drugs, paraphernalia following traffic stop

(Smith County Insider Press)—Bari Brianna Hitchcock (32, Lancaster) was arrested on October 13, 2018, after a traffic stop on New Middleton Highway led to the discovery of drugs and drug paraphernalia on her person and inside her vehicle.

According to the police report, Smith County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Enoch conducted the traffic stop, assisted by Sergeant Ridge Long.

The officers found a set of digital scales inside a black handbag in the passenger seat of the vehicle, along with a container that held less than a gram of methamphetamine. Hitchcock claimed ownership of the items.

According to the police report, a white glass pipe was also found on Hitchcock’s person as officers were placing her under arrest.

Hitchcock was transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office for booking.

Hitchcock is charged with one count of possession of controlled substances and one count of felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
