Two Arrested for Selling Methamphetamine During A Buy Bust in Smith County

On April 16th, 2021, Sgt. Junior Fields conducted a drug investigation and buy bust operation after Mr. Joseph Jones agreed to deliver one ounce of methamphetamine. Mr. Jones arrived, along with Mrs. Lora Bouton. Mr. Jones was found to be in possession of approximately one ounce of meth upin being placed into custody. Mrs. Bouton was found to be in possession of once ounce of meth along with a glass methamphetamine pipe. A set of digital scales was also located inside of her purse.

A handgun was located in the center console of the vehicle along with 55 grams of crystal methamphetamine. They were both arrested and transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s office for procession.

Mr. Jones is being charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a fire arm during commission of felony, driving while in possession of methamphetamine.

Mrs. Bouton is being charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a fire arm during commission of a felony.

Both are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
