Two Arrested for Burglary and Evading Arrest

On March 4th, South Carthage Assistant Chief, David Apple, arrested Daniel Duncan and Kenneth Hiers. They were found to have stolen property in their vehicle.

On March 5th, Deputy Dallas Eddie was dispatched to the Keeler’s Market on Granville Hwy. to take a report on a possible break in. Ulanda Keeler listed several items that were taken, including guitars and a television.

On March 9th, Deputy Nathan Williams attempted to initiate a traffic stop with Duncan, but he tried to flee the scene. He was later apprehended and held by Wilson County police, and afterwards taken to Smith County Sheriff’s office in custody.

On March, 12th, during an interview, Daniel Duncan admitted going to Keeler’s with Kenneth Hiers and stealing the items. He also admitted to pawning some of them in Lebanon.

Duncan is being charged with Burglary, evading arrest, reckless driving, and violation of probation.

Hiers is being charged with theft of property, evading arrest, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substances, and burglary.

Both are considered innocent until proven guilty.
