Two Arrested Following Marijuana Investigation

Two men were arrested after being found in possession of marijuana in the Hiwassee community Friday, September 23.

Sgt. Junior Fields and Sgt. Dusty Hailey responded to 4 Charity Lane after receiving information that marijuana was present at the residence.

Upon arriving, Fields spoke with one of the residents, who admitted marijuana was in fact present there and belonged to her husband, identified as 51-year-old Michael Rogers, according to Fields’ report.

During a search of the residence, Fields and Hailey observed a large marijuana plant growing off the back porch. Upon checking, it was revealed that three marijuana plants were in fact present, as well as a small bag of marijuana in the bedroom, according to the report.

Rogers was placed under arrest.

Another man, identified as 21-year-old Taylon Liddle, was at the residence and found to be in possession of a marijuana grinder and pipe, at which he attempted to hide the grinder, according to the report.

Liddle was also placed under arrest, and he and Rogers were transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking.

Rogers is charged with Manufacturing/Deliver/Sell of Controlled Substance (Schedule VI). Liddle is charged with Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
