Traffic Stop Due To Active Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest

On August 29th, 2021, a traffic stop was conducted on Hospital Drive after observing a driver with an active warrant. After making contact with the vehicle, the passenger, Mr. Ethan Davenport, opened the center console to retrieve his ID and the officer saw a glass meth pipe in plain view. A search was then conducted of the vehicle. During the search, .5 grams of methamphetamine was found. When questioning, the driver, Ms. Kelle Boles, nor Mr. Davenport claimed possession of the substance.

Both were arrested and transported to the Smith County Jail for processing.

Mr. Davenport is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.

He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
