On Friday afternoon, September 11, Smith County 911 received a call reporting three men trapped in a ditch near Ivy Agee Park in Gordonsville.
Reportedly, the men were working in a freshly dug ditch when the walls of the ditch collapsed, entrapping them in dirt.
The incident took place on the job site of the new sewer line expansion on Agee Drive in Gordonsville.
All three men were safely rescued and only suffered minor injuries.
Smith County Rescue Squad, Gordonsville Fire Department, Gordonsville Police Department, Smith County EMS, and Town of Gordonsville employees assisted with the rescue.
