Three arrested after police intercept vehicle and seize drugs

Three people were arrested following an investigation conducted by the Smith County Sheriff’s Department that occurred on September 10, 2019.

Lesley Ann Dennis (35, Nashville), Joshua Ryan Harris (30, Gordonsville), and James Grady Jones (36, Nashville) all face a host of drug charges.

According to the police report, officers encountered Dennis, Harris, and Jones after receiving a tip that a vehicle containing large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin would be arriving in Gordonsville. The vehicle was described as a black GMC Envoy.

Sergeant Junior Fields, Sergeant Ridge Long, Sergeant Kendra Grisham, Deputy Stephen Enoch, and Deputy Dallas Eddie were all on the lookout and conducted a take down of the vehicle when it was spotted pulling into the parking lot near Subway.

One officer spotted a baggie containing drugs in the front passenger side of the vehicle, and a search was conducted.

During the search, officers found 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 8 grams of heroin, 19 Fentanyl pills marked as Oxycodone, 7 Morphine pills, a small bag of marijuana, a Suboxone pill, and 3 Xanax bars.

According to the police report, Dennis, Harris, and Jones were taken into custody, and the drugs and a sum of money were seized.

The three suspects were taken to the Smith County Jail for processing.

Dennis is charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy (felony), three counts of manufacture/delivery/sell of a controlled substance, one count possession methamphetamine, and two counts possession of controlled substances.

Harris is charged with four counts of manufacture/delivery/sell of a controlled substance, two counts possession of controlled substances, and two counts of criminal conspiracy (felony).

Jones is charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy (felony), one count possession methamphetamine, three counts manufacture/delivery/sell of a controlled substance, and two counts possession of controlled substances.
