Stay informed and be prepared when disaster strikes! Sign up for Reverse 911 notifications

January 6, 2022

Did you know that you can sign up to get Reverse 911 notifications on your cell phone or email?

Reverse 911 is a public alert system most frequently used by safety organizations to alert individuals and businesses to the risk of danger by sending a recorded voice message to landline telephones and registered cellphones within a defined geographical area.

In Smith County, the Hyper-Reach system will automatically call all landline numbers, but you need to sign up for any cell number.

You can register to get Reverse 911 alerts on your cell phone or email by clicking here.

“With many people now dropping landlines and using cellular as the primary source of communication, we urge you to take the time to sign-up,” Smith County EMS shared in a post on social media.

The sign-up process is simple. Submit your address, name, and your cell phone number or email address.

Follow Smith County Emergency Medical Services & Smith County 911 on Facebook for more information and to access a sign up tutorial video.
