Smith County High School Sophomore Honored For Outstanding Volunteerism

Smith County High School Sophomore Eden Daniel was recently honored for her outstanding volunteerism.  To mark this moment Miss Daniel was surrounded by some of her support system to celebrate her accomplishments.  Those in attendance were SCHS Principal Whitaker, Rachel Bush, Coach Kit Jenkins, players from the Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams, her mother, Audrey, Mayor Sarah Smith and of course Senator Mark Pody.

Senator Pody presented Miss Daniel with a proclamation from the Tennessee Senate.  The recognition outlined her accomplishments above her grades, vice-president and president elect of the local chapter of FCCLA, French Club, Soccer, part time job, Eden goes above and beyond in public service.  She has put in 150 hours of community service and is on track to have 200 by the end of her Sophomore year.

Participation in rescuing puppies and doing donation drives to collect food for Waggin’ Tails, tireless efforts on behalf of the Emmanuel House, raising over $3500, loving on the children, collecting household products for the women, providing food, are a few of the reasons she is honored with the title of being the youngest member ever selected to sit on the organization’s board of trustees.

Eden is the daughter of Christopher and Audrey Daniel of Carthage. She is this year’s Smith County nominee for the Prudential Spirit of Service Award. Smith County can be very proud and excited to have youth who show such Civic and Community pride. Congratulations Eden, keep pushing and inspiring.
