Smith County has twice caught the attention of the Nashville media in 2019 and has been making headlines for some interesting and uplifting reasons.

The first article about Smith County was published early in the year on January 2, 2019. The focus was the growing hemp industry, inspired by the record attendance at the UT Extension’s “So You Want to Grow Industrial Hemp?” Lunch and Learn presentation.
