Service Sorority and Beta Club students partner to make Christmas special for local children

December 28, 2018

This Christmas, the Xi Beta Xi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi teamed up with Beta Club students at Smith County Middle School and Smith County High School to provide gifts to local children in need of a special Christmas.

In total, 20 local children benefited from their generosity.

The Xi Beta Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is a service sorority of local women who strive to make a difference in the community with volunteering and fundraising efforts.

This group of about 30 women works closely with schools in Smith County to provide school supplies, personal hygiene products, clothes/shoes/socks/etc., Christmas gifts, and even Halloween costumes for children in need.

Beta Sigma Phi also works with staff at both The Pavilion and Concordia Nursing and Rehabilitation to provide special items for the residents on Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day.

Additionally, they oversee and manage scholarships that are dispersed to six seniors in Smith County.
