Search of Vehicle Reveals Packaged Methamphetamine and Leads to Arrest

On March 29th, 2021, K9 Sgt. Ridge Long conducted a traffic stop in the area of I-40 westbound at exit 258 due to the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. Upon making contact with the driver, Mrs. Sarah Tubbs, she consented to a search of her vehicle. During the search, approximately 2.72 grams of methamphetamine was found, along with 11 Alorazlam, 5 Oxycodone, and 1 Buprenorphine pill. In addition to the drugs, there was $884.00 dollars.

She admitted that she did not possess a current prescription for the named pills. The meth was packaged in separate baggies with consistent weights. Ms. Tubbs was found to have a history of narcotics sales. She was placed under arrest and taken to the Smith county Sheriff’s office for booking.

She is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, MFG/ DEL/ SELL of controlled substances, and possession of controlled substances.

Mrs. Tubbs is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
