Smith County First Responder Garrett Gross

SCI: When did you realize this is what you wanted to do?

GG: Straight out of high school. I realized I wanted to do something to help people in their times of need.

SCI: What is the best thing about your job?

GG: The fast paced environment we work in. Also being able to provide comfort to the ones in need when they need it most.

SCI: What is your proudest work accomplishment?

GG: My proudest work accomplishment is being able to further my education starting out as an EMT-IN and working my way up to a Critical Care Paramedic.

SCI: What advice would you give someone looking to go into your field?

GG: You have to be able to handle the stress of the job as well as missing out on family time, holidays with family, and spending many hours away from loved ones.

SCI: What are your favorite hobbies and activities outside of work?

GG: Riding the side by side, anything outdoors, and spending as much time as possible with my daughter

SCI: Is there anything else you want to share with the readers of Smith County Insider?

GG: Please make sure you have visible numbers on your mailboxes so first responders are able to find your residence in your time of need.

Thank you for your service to Smith County, Garrett!
