Ribbon cutting held for new Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition office

On Wednesday, August 12, the Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition held an open house and meet & greet to unveil their new building. At 1:00 P.M. they held a ribbon cutting ceremony. Their new building can be found directly behind the Historic Smith County Courthouse, across from Rojas’ Kitchen at 115 Water Street in Carthage.

The Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition’s mission is to reduce the use of prescription drug abuse. In addition to this, they are also striving to reduce underage alcohol and tobacco usage. Their meetings are open to the public and are the first Wednesday of every month at 12:00 P.M. at the Smith County Chamber of Commerce.
