One arrested after multiple mailboxes vandalized on Pea Ridge Road

(Smith County Insider Press)—Joe Allen Reid Lashbrook (25, Hartsville) faces charges of vandalism and driving under the influence following an incident that occurred on Pea Ridge Road on October 15, 2019.

According to a police report filed by Deputy Ray Biggs, officers from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Lashbrook after responding to a report that a white truck had hit a mailbox.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Lashbrook’s vehicle and observed damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle and noted that one of the back rear tires was flat.

Upon contact, Deputy Biggs could smell alcohol on Lashbrook’s person. According to the police report, Lashbrook admitted to drinking a beer and was unable to complete a standardized field sobriety test.

Lashbrook also admitted to hitting several mailboxes in the area. According to the police report, damage to mailboxes was observed at 22 different locations on Pea Ridge Road. In addition, damage to two street signs and a white wooden fence was observed in the area.

Lashbrook was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail for processing.

Lashbrook is charged with vandalism and driving under the influence.
