(Smith County Insider Press) – On February 5, 2018, Deputy Matt Bush pulled over a vehicle on Lebanon Highway due to unconfirmed insurance.

According to the police report, when Deputy Bush initiated his lights, he observed the driver of the vehicle, William Brown (44, Dixon Springs), make several large movements, appearing to move something inside the vehicle.

Deputy Bush asked Brown for his license, registration, and proof of insurance. Brown could not provide appropriate documentation for insurance.

According to the police report, Deputy Bush asked Brown what he was hiding in the vehicle. Brown retrieved a small white bottle containing Xanax pills, hydrocodone pills, and suboxone sublingual film. When Brown exited the vehicle, Deputy Bush searched him and located buprenorphine pills inside his pocket. In searching the vehicle, Deputy Bush also found a marijuana pipe.

Brown was unable to provide a prescription for any of the drugs. He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of schedule II, possession of schedule III (2 counts), possession of schedule IV, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brown was recently indicted by the grand jury in December of 2017 for theft under $1000.
