On Monday night, March 5, the County Budget & Finance and Education Committees, along with the Smith County Board of Education held a joint meeting at the Smith County Ag Center to discuss school safety and security of schools. The meeting stemmed from conversations on social media from concerned parents and citizens following the recent school shooting in Florida.
