First Tennessee Bank opens Financial Center in Carthage

August 9, 2018

Following the 2017 merger with Capital Bank, Tennessee’s oldest bank is now proud to serve the Smith County community.

First Tennessee Bank has come to Smith County and taken up residence at 1001 North Main Street in Carthage. The former Capital Bank building, which has been a home to three other banks since its charter in 1975, is now adorned with First Tennessee signage, and branch manager Katie Jones says they are “here to stay.”

“We’re so pleased to be part of First Tennessee Bank and to continue to serve our friends and neighbors here in Carthage,” said Jones. “The bank’s long history in our state has demonstrated that First Tennessee will not only offer valuable products and services to our customers, but will also remain actively involved and invested in the Smith County community.”

First Tennessee Bank was founded in 1864 and currently operates 350 branches across the southeast U.S. The bank holds the largest deposit market share in Tennessee and has one of the highest customer retention rates of any bank in the country. First Tennessee has also been recognized as one of the nation’s best employers by American Banker, Working Mother magazine, and the National Association for Female Executives.

Jones is looking forward to building on First Tennessee’s reputation for strong customer service and to bringing the best that the bank has to offer to Smith County.

“If you’re already a customer, we’re excited to share what’s new,” said Jones. “And if we haven’t met yet, we hope to see you soon!”
