The Cordell Hull Bridge in Carthage is closed to thru traffic as of Monday, June 1, 2020.
The bridge is expected to remain closed until July 2020 as TODT contract crews perform repair work on the structure.
In addition to structural repair work, TDOT contract crews will also be spot cleaning and painting some of the structural steel and cleaning out deck drains.
Signed detours are in place to direct traffic to cross the Cumberland River via SR 25.
The contract amount is $333,413.20, and the contractor is Summers-Taylor, Inc. out of Elizabethton, Tennessee.
