A Vehicle Search Leads to One Drug Arrest on Alexandria Hwy

On April 8th, 2021, K9 Sgt. Ridge Long conducted a traffic stop in the area of Alexandria Highway. Upon making contact with the driver, Ms. Ronda West, she confirmed that she was currently on state probation. Before a vehicle search, she admitted to having methamphetamine in the passenger side of the vehicle. Upon a search, approximately 1.71 grams of methamphetamine was located, along with two and a half hydrocodone pills and a meth pipe that contained residue. Ms. West was unable to provide any form of prescription for the pills upon request.

She was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s office for booking.

She is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of narcotics, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ms. West is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
